Fiber Cable Cut(s) in US Atlantic/Eastern?

Heard a report, one cut between Washington, D.C and Florida, and one cut between Alabama and Florida, but found no confirmations on verizon status pages, or various web searches (msn, google, cnn). Wondering if anyone else heard similar or has a good real-time resource for this, the google searches I tried gave me old postings (2003,2005) and speculations about submarines and the MidEast/Asian issues earlier this year.
