I complained and got a discount because I wasn't getting the advertised speed.

Just like you I was also told it's only a matter of time before we finally get the 10/1 line.

What I don't understand it how at one point I actually was getting 10/1 for about 2 months and then all of a sudden went back down. It looks like they are testing it out so we should see the speed bump very soon.

I would insist upon a technician to come out and check your whole setup to get you much better speed.....Maybe your modem is bad? Do you have a network? If so, maybe there's a problem with your router setup. I'm sure there is a major problem and it can be fixed. the only difference is that you get 7.8Mbits during peak hours and I get somewhere in the 500Kbits to 980Kbits range. :( during peak hours and this has been going on since APR 17 of 08 and still not fixed just runarounds and more call to the helpdesk and level 3 more times than I can count
You’re lucky you get 7.8Mbits after all it says at the bottom of Time warmers page for Roadrunner.
