Just a suggestion: check out Dell Small Business Outlet (www.dell.com, choose Small & Medium Business, then scroll down for the Dell Outlet link).
They've usually got some good prices on business-grade systems that were cancelled orders, returns, or scratch & dents. All have the full warranty (for a notebook, I always have clients get the three year NBD onsite plus the additional "whatever you do to the darn thing" repair coverage).
The reason I recommend SMB is you get US-based support if you need it, and the equipment is also standard, higher-grade components. The stuff from the consumer/home office channel is OK, but components can have issues because they are whatever is cheaper. -- There is no giant fur-bearing trout. |

| The HP dv6628us would appear the best overall value. No reason to buy a notebook with anything less than 2gb nowdays.
I am not a big fan of refurbished laptops however. All too often these are refurbs due to multiple problems, and not all the issues always get caught.
Not saying that it "can't" be a good deal, but I would frankly, be very wary. -- ...something is happening here but you don't know what it is...do you, Mr. Jones? |
