I'm driving on South I-35 into Austin, and traffic slows way down southbound. I thought that since there was construction, that must be it. Maybe an accident.
There was an accident, involving 18-wheelers, but that was going north. Going south was clear, but NO, everyone just has to slow down and look, wasting expensive gas in miles of stop and go traffic.

Had the same thing on I-4 ("Hell's Offramp") in Orlando today...wreck in the median on the eastbound side. Traffic in the westbound lanes slows to a crawl so theys can see the horrific crash -- oh, the humanity...!
BLAAAGHH! Drive, you simpletons, quit feeding on others' misery and just focus on your own miserable lives!
You know, they used to put blinders on horses to keep them looking at the road ahead, and to avoid startling them when you come up beside them. Maybe someone could invent driver blinders...?

People will complain about the traffic but those same people will back up traffic just to look at a accident that's on the other side of the highway. As many times as we see or hear about accidents that happen, people slow down or stop like it's the first time they seen one. |

We had a traffic reporter that rode around in a chopper giving reports and would comment on the rubber-neckers, one day there was an accident caused by someone watching what was going on and not noticing the traffic in front of him had stopped, probably because they were looking too.
