Yeah I just sat down at this machine to see if anyone else had the same thing happen. Still waiting for restore to finish...

Ok system restore worked. I'm not anxious to tackle SP3 again tonight.. 
Three simple steps to to take when I am ready to try again:
1. Download the full SP3 installer rather than use Windows Update.
2. Close all open programs, disconnect from the network, and disable security software.
3. Unplug all non-essential devices (printer, external hard drives, camera).
Could add: And make sure to have a recent backup. |
