| Blu-Ray sales tank for good reasons
Sony destroying their console business to win, over the about as horrible HD-DVD format, didn't change the fact that Blu-Ray as a platform sucks serious ass.
And after all the Sony fanboy hype, despite winning the format war at the cost of their console biz, sales of BD media and players are down this year.
Hope it was worth going from 1st to 3rd in the game console biz dumbasses! |

| LOL, No, I wasted money on 2 PS3's and I'm mad. I'm beyond pissed with GTAIV (despite reinstalling 2X) crashing on one of my consoles and am disappointed with the poor selection of titles in general just as I am still disappointed with the PSP library.
Yep, we will excuse BD problems because anyone who dares to criticize the all-perfect Sony must be doing so because they're a secret operative for Redmond who is crying over the XBOX 360's lonely HD-DVD player.
There is no money for Sony in BD because people are staying away from overpriced media and Nintendo is kicking Sony's ass in the console biz.
Sony must fix their buggy hardware and drop the price of players and media if BD is to have ANY hope of being successful. |

I objectively criticize what I see are deficiencies in these Sony products from the perspective of an OWNER. And according to you, only "haters" of Sony point out these problems. It doesn't matter who many Sony products they own, or their long history of buying Sony products. No one is ever permitted to speak ill of the ever-perfect Sony.
And yes, Americans are pretty damn stupid. You only need to see who they elect to verify that is true.
So what is next? Only "haters" can criticize Microsoft activation practices, RIAA/MPAA blackmailing, Comcast's phantom caps and traffic shaping or critique anything in the world? So be it.
I'm a 2 PS1, 3 PS2, 1 PSP and 2 PS3 Sony owner (hell I had Beta, DAT and MiniDisc too) and a proud critic of deficiencies hater.
If Sony wants to have ANY success with BD, they need to drop the prices and fix the problems. Until then, the author is absolutely correct that people will choose to stil with upscaled DVD's that provide near the same quality and a fraction of the price.
Meanwhile the quicker you fanboys, no matter what your brand loyalty is, realize there is no such thing as a perfect product, the quicker you can take off those blinders you all wear. |
