Ah, Juno...

I remember when Juno and NetZero were both absolutely free, also. I have a soft spot in my heart for Juno, especially. During the Northeast Ice Storm of 1998, my wife was out of State, unable to get back home, and my son and I were stranded in the house with marginal electricity working, but phone lines were up. None of the local ISPs numbers were working, because all of their POPs were located in areas without electricity, for over 3 weeks. Thanks to Juno, I was able to e-mail my wife in Cleveland and keep in touch because Juno's nearest phone number was in Syracuse, which had electricity and was still in my regional calling area.

Well, technically... not free. I remember it took up half my desktop w/ ads, that you couldn't remove w/o dropping the connection (unless you used the proper crack, of course).
