| Horrendously slow TDS DSL in Middleton, WI
Is anyone else suffering with horrendously slow DSL service from TDS? Our connection has been 60kbps-150kpbs starting April 30th. I have called in several times and they claim to be working on resolving the problem, and claim it is affecting many others. It's hard to believe they can't fix a simple networking problem in 4 days.
Is anyone else seeing this? |

@tds.net | I have had the problem for 3 days or more now. I opened a problem and got nowhere. They couldn't tell me when it may be fixed? |

| reply to DSLinMiddletonWI I also have an open ticket, since Wednesday, but have seen no improvement. It seems to be an upstream bottleneck, since it works somewhat better in the middle of the day, when other users are likely to be at work, but just crawls in the evenings once everyone is at home using their connection. Pathetic performance for an ISP. |

| I'm having the same problem, getting speeds about half the speed of dial-up. After spending 28 minutes waiting to talk to a real person at TDS, they offered no additional explanation. I asked to talk to someone else, and they gave me a supervisor that was actually pretty helpful. They said they had a packet server down, and Middleton, Cross Plains, and Black Earth are all at a snail's pace. They don't know when it will be fixed, but he said that a it should be any time now.... |

| reply to DSLinMiddletonWI I spoke with them today (Sunday), and they have no idea when it will be fixed. They suggested possibly Tuesday or even Wednesday. They assured me that "network engineers" are working on it. I told them I hope so. Their response has been extremely slow, to say the least. I can't believe it has taken this long. Grr. |

@tds.net | I can't believe that they don't have backup equipment or the ability to get replacement equipment. I am sure we will not see a discount on our bills for this. |

@tds.net | reply to DSLinMiddletonWI Been slow or slower than dial-up for over a week here in Cross Plains. I connected Monday morning at 2.4M download speed, but that was short-lived. The upload speed has been 0.5M consistently though. |

@tds.net | reply to DSLinMiddletonWI Call them up and demand a full refund. That's what I did. Don't accept anything less than a refund for the entire week. You can see how lame this company is once a piece of hardware dies on them. |

@tds.net | reply to DSLinMiddletonWI As of tomorrow I will be using Charter internet and will be cancelling my TDS phone service as well. TDS' inaction and denials were enough to convince me they have no concern whatsoever for their customers. Good Riddance. |

@tds.net | reply to DSLinMiddletonWI Heh. FInally, it's back up as of 6 am this morning. Download speed is back to 1374 for a 1.5 Mb connection. It sure took them long enough. Demand refunds and complain to feedback@tds.net. |

| reply to DSLinMiddletonWI Good luck, "former tds user", with Charter. I had Charter "High Speed" Internet for 18 months, and I can say that I was lucky if I had 7 straight days where there wasn't a problem or major slow down. I spent more time on hold, with Charter customer service, than I spent surfing the web many days. I had one outage that lasted 3 weeks with those clowns! Also, they advertise high speed, but when all your neighbor sign on after work, it quickly turns into low speed.
This was the first outage I ever had with TDS DSL in the 12 months I been with them. Their track record is 10 times better than Charter, for me at least. |
