| [DSL] Speed test on vista, downloading probs.
»/tweakr/block:···ia=pppoA
2. 608 KB Download from flash based test 3. Not a member, could not ping line quality. 4. Motorola Modem, ATT, DSL 5, 6. PPPoE...not sure the brand of software 7. Vista 64 8. 768k advertised or something like that. 9. PC is connected directly to modem for now. 10. Linksys router when I figure out the problem 11. CO is about 5000 or 7000 feet away.
Here's my issue. First of all ATT has no answer to this. I finally demanded a replacement modem. Problem still here.
I used to be on cable ISP then switched. I changed nothing in my home network setup. And now I'm never able to download any faster than 80KB/sec. I'm running 3 machines. Vista, XP, Mac. All behave the same.
It appears now that I'm on a second modem, the problem is still here. Help please? |

| If you're advertised downstream is 768 kbps 80 KB/sec is the fastest you'll be able to download. Which service did you sign up for Basic, Express, Pro or Elite?

@swbell.net | reply to jtnichol I believe Basic is all I was able to get in my area. I know it wasn't 1.5.
Why would 80 be the fastest if it said 768?
By the way, you are a saint. i really appreciate the reply. |
