| reply to jgegner Its not really Earthlink, its "city-wide" wifi that sucks. 802.11x was never meant for this type of deployment, and it will consistently fail when used in anything resembling an urban environment for commercial use. -- Весна прибыла |

| reply to jgegner Actually, with the new leadership in place, they are turning around a bit.
The new CEO Rolla Huff seems to be making decisions that are best for the company from a proactive point of view instead of a reactive point of view.
From my inside sources, the bleeding has slowed down a bit but it hasn't completely stopped. I just wonder with all of the FCC rules regarding the cable and telcos not having to share their lines, how EarthLink will survive in the long haul. Mix in with that their customer service and support. Ouch. -- The only place where Success comes before Work is in the dictionary. |

| reply to Archivis Nah, it didn't quite start then. Maybe about a year later, when they started downsliding. I was on the Mindspring side of the event, and it wasn't exactly the greatest the last year or two I had it. |

| reply to Archivis I remember when Earthlink first started up in the bay area. I was one of his first dial-up customers. To this day I still have access to the Earthlink network via dial-up free of charge. It's a shame the company has turned into just that - a massive congolomorate that could care less. |

| reply to wifi4milez It wasn't so bad before Earthlink. I remember being able to hop on the slower city wifi when my road runner connection was out. I could access it from work, from home or a few of the shopping centers around town. We're a fairly small community with a population of 300k or so. |
