Comcast does carry the game feeds in HD and I suppose it's possible that once the Patriot name is buried and Comcast is takeover is totally complete you'll see those games in HD.
FWIW, I dropped Patriot over a year ago because of this and went to FiOS. They didn't carry the HD feeds either but the SD picture was far superior to Patriot's.
In January I dropped the FiOS and moved to DirecTV for the same reason you state...hi def hockey in general and the Devils in particular. The picture is fabulous on the new MPEG4 channels, acceptable on the MPEG2 HD channels and not so great on the SD channels.
The MGEG2 channels will go to MPEG4 soon enough and with almost 100 HD channels I don't really care what the SD channels look like. |

| Is that for only Direct TV or for everyone? 100 HD channels would be nice. The SD channels do suck on my tv. I watched the Bruins game on VS the other night in HD and it was amazing.
I am just hoping that MSG and FSNY go HD soon (or at least by next hockey season). The only reason I didn't go Direct TV was that when you finally got all the locals and sports it was the same price as Pat Media and they wanted a 2 year signed commitment.
I honestly don't know where I will be in 2 years so for the same $ I didn't want to be stuck. |

| I got a great deal when I signed up but that's not the point. Even at the same price it's far superior to anything else. It has what I want NOW.
I got tired of promises and a few dollars here and there isn't going to change the way I live. I want my HD hockey and DirecTV delivers it.
Of course, you need to make your decision. |
