[PA] Unclaimed Property

»www.patreasury.org/Unclaimed/Search.html

From an email I recently received:

quote:
Dear Reader,

My name is Robin Wiessmann, and I am Pennsylvania's Treasurer. I hope you read our recent unclaimed property advertisement in The Philadelphia Inquirer, which listed the names of owners with unclaimed property valued at $100 or more.

Because teh advertised names represented only a portion of the names of unclaimed property owners, I encourage all Pennsylvanians to visit Treasury's home page, www.patreasury.org and search the Unclaimed Property Database to find out if we are holding unclaimed property in your name or in the names of a family member or friend.

Unclaimed property typically includes:

* Bank accounts that become inactive.
* Checks, including paychecks that are not cashed.
* Stocks and bonds whose owners cannot be found.
* Contents of safe deposit boxes that become dormant.
* Proceeds from the demutualization of insurance companies
* Expired gift cards/gift certificates.

If you found your name in our ads or by searching our database, you may claim your property by calling the unclaimed property hotline toll-free at 1-800-222-2046, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Treasury staff will assit you in recovering your property free of charge.

Thank you for taking the time from your busy day to read this email. I hope that you'll search our online database so Treasury can help you claim what is yours!

Sincerely,
Robin L. Wiessmann, Treasurer
