First off, I would look into what the ingredients are? Attached to a garden hose would mean that most of the product ends up in your ground water. We don't need anymore chemicals in our ground water. Unless it's 100% organic it should be taken off the market and it's marketers be held responsible along with the developer.

Water is one of the things you're trying to keep out of the wood. Doesn't make sense, to me, to spray water onto the surface to apply color to it. It may be quick and easy, but the sealing ability of the stain is what I question.

Granted, that's a valid concern.

But how does that differ from spraying any other type of product onto a fence or deck or house siding? Are there environmentally sound protocols for this type of usage?

If any of those lumber yards that they list as retailers in your state are near you I would go talk to them about it..How have sales been of the product, pics or recommendations of local people who bought and applied it, etc..

I used the 5-Minute Fence Stain a couple years back. I thought it was real easy to apply. I was a little disappointed they didn't have a larger color selection, I think they only had the Natural Cedar at the time. I think it will be 3 years in June or July and the fence still looks great.
