| [360] XBOX 360 PROBLEM -- Not a box issue! Alright guys,
Well, here is my problem..
I play rainbow six vegas online, my screen freezes up alot during a match. It MAINLY freezes when i host a match, although sometimes when I do not host.
I did find a fix for it.. --> TURN OFF BOTH OF MY COMPUTERS -- It will not freeze at all, it will run smoothly and perfect for hours upon hours.
Well, I do not have control over who uses the computers in my home and do not keep tabs for when they are on.
I've never had the problem before, so I am assuming it has to do with the router or configurations within..
Basic rundown : Network is all completely wireless, nothing is hardwired, I cannot hardwire my xbox because it is in the basement, the computers are on the second and third floor. ISP is Verizon FIOS, I am running the 20mbps up/down package, so i know the bandwidth is definitely not the problem for holding my 2 wireless computers and xbox. Also the recent speed tests were consistent 17 down / 18 up(not 20's because of wireless and processor speeds). I am also running windows xp on both pc's.
I know the problem is in my router configurations, but i have tried so many things and still the same deal.. I am hoping you guys can help me.. If you need any additional information from me, please feel free to ask. I'll try anything to fix this crap, its really annoying. I can't stand freezing up during a clan match.
Thanks in advance! Ryan

| I'm on a 7/512 RR connection and I have no issues. I run a PC, laptop and my 360 simutaneously and do not have the same issue. The fact that this doesn't happen when you remove your computers from the equation pretty much tells you that they were the cause of the problem.
I use a D-Link DGL-4300 with QoS giving the 360 higher priority than everything else. If your router supports it, I highly recommend using the QoS feature. If not, I'd recommend buying one that does. I've left bit torrent running on my PC by accident and not even noticed on my 360.

| I would try updating the firmware of the router as it could be a issue with to many connections and a firmware update might help it.
Also you could try to run a Cat5/6 cable )for testing) down to your 360 to see if you still have the same issue when the computers are turned on.
