She informed me the laser she bought is exactly the same one that was in the unit before.<br>Also the laser did not have the anti-static solder points. Apparently this PS2 is very old generation doesn't have solder points. ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/446167"><b>Thinkdiff</b></A> : Did she buy the correct laser? PS2s use up to 3-4 different models of Laser assemblies. I believe if you use the wrong laser, it can exhibit the problem you're describing. Also, most lasers ship with the anti-static solder points connected, you'd need to desolder them for the laser to actually turn on.<br><br>Make sure she plugged in all the ribbon cables from the PS2's DVD drive into the motherboard. <br><br>The part in question is the drive motor.]]></description>

She replaced the bad laser ,but now the unit that spins the game disk won't work.I'm curious what is that unit called (So my girlfriend can buy it online) or if there something she is overlooking ?
