Is there a way to remote into a Mac from a pc? If so what is the easiest way to do this? I have experience doing this from a Mac at home to a pc at work, but have never needed to go from a pc to a Mac. |

I run Redstone Software's Vine VNC server on my Mac, and then use UltraVNC viewer on my PC to connect. Works decently enough, not great... |

i use timbuktu mostly mac to pc for multi monitor support but it will do pc to mac also.
i also use rdc for mac to pc only.

Try configuring UltraVNC to connect to your Mac using 8-bit or 16-bit color depth instead of the default 24-bit color depth. You'll see a big interactivity improvement at the expense of some eye candy. |

There is no need to run vine server. All you have to do is enable Apple Remote Desktop, then select options, and enable vnc connections with password.
Both CoRD and the Windows Remote Desktop tool work great. If you want to share the desktop with the user you can install ultravnc on your windows machine and connect with Chicken of the VNC.
For a fun trick you can use ssh and vnc to make a tunnel to your network and securely administrate your machines from outside of your house. If interested I can post some details on how to use ssh tunneling to do this.

After talking with one of my co-workers, we decided to set up a test machine and try out some of the different options that are out there. With all of the suggestions I am sure we can find a solution that everyone will like. |

Select the remote tab and in the bottom half of the screen choose "allow users to connect remotely to this computer". Now you can use the remote desktop connection option from start-programs-accessories-communications to connect to the pc, or use CoRD or the RDP linked earlier to connect from a mac.
OR
You can install a vnc client/server package (ultravnc for example). |

Vine Server offers better performance than Apple's bundled VNC because you can connect at lower color depths -- important when connecting over the Internet (except for lucky few with very high upstream bandwidth). |

Still not as nice as ARD, and this Mac and PC are on the same subnet! In fact, they're sitting right next to each other on the floor! 
Really the connection's not what I'd expect - maybe I need to try another vnc viewer... |

Actually, I've been using logmein for awhile on a number of PCs, but I didn't realize they had finally come out with a Mac version! I'll be using that from now on, probably. Logmein makes things very easy. |
