ydoucare : Is your Vista machine updated? There was a specific patch released on WU that fixes an issue with ICS where it would cause the entire network functionality to fail until restarted. It shouldn't cause your router to behave that way though. I'll try to find the specific Microsoft KB article on it.

EDIT: »support.microsoft.com/kb/937168
this may not be your issue, but sounds similar.

I had the exact issue described in the KB article, where my main machine (Vista host) would drop network functionality, but client machines would still work.
--
Asrock 4CoreDual-Sata2|E4500|1 GB PC3200|7600GT|Audigy + Front Bay|Hauppauge PVR-150MCE|Vista Ultimate + XP Pro SP2 dual boot|Sony Vaio VGN-CR290|Sprint Mobile Broadband|Netgear WGR614v8

Share EVDO with Vista ICS (PLEASE HELP!!!)

anon : I'm currently sharing a 3g signal from my desktop computer to 2 laptops. The desktop (host) is running Vista. One laptop is Vista, and the other is XP. I'm connected to the LAN port on a Belkin Pre-N wireless router.

I've set up the wireless router as an access point. I have correct IP's on everything (Desktop: 192.168.0.1, laptops 192.168.0.xxx). The wireless router is set to 192.168.0.101. There is no security set up on the wireless router.

I am able to share the connection for different lengths of time. However, at some random time, I lose the ability to access the connection from my desktop, but I'm still able to access the connection through my laptops. If I restart the desktop, I can then access the 3g connection again. But my laptops lose communication with the desktop, and I have to restart my wireless router to get connectivity with the laptops again.

At first I thought it was a firewall issue, so I turned off all firewalls on all machines. However, it has just recently done it again.

Please help!!! I've talked to MANY different tech people, and I'm not getting this thing figured out.
