1 edit | Your only option according to your preference is Videotron EXtreme High Speed Business at $80/month (I believe, might be $100) |

If you have questions PM me and it will be a pleasure.

 | reply to lucas c I'm in a similar situation. I just called videotron not to renew my contract. I'm wondering if the EBox also has a contract and what about the modem. |

You can use your own modem (call for details) or buy one from our inventory.

 | reply to lucas c Well there's Teksavvy who offer 5mbit DSL. You've got the Premium account with better routing for 30$/month but limited to 200GB, additional 25¢/GB, yes, 0.25$/GB or you can buy and additional 100 GB for 10$. There's also an Unlimited plan for 40$ but it's using cheaper provider so the ping can suffer.
Bandwith is averaged over the last two months. For example:
Usage for april: 100GB (100+0/2=50, no overcharge) Usage for may: 250GB (250+100/2=175, no overcharge) Usage for june: 200GB (200+250/2=225, 25gb overcharge, 6.25$) Usage for july: 200GB (200+ 200/2=200, no overcharge)
You can have a static IP for 4$/month, which gives you access to binary newsgroup at 100k/sec with a 30 days retention.
You are allowed to run any server you want.
They will offer phone service too very soon.
The technical support is just awesome. They don't spew BS. If there's a problem they tell you what's going on and if you're not satisfied, you don't get charged.
I switched for Bell to TekSavvy and it resolved every problem I had with Bell instantly (well, took about 12 hours after signing up on the website). And Bell techs were saying it was the modem...
For phone service I recommend using Unlimitel's VoIP a la carte. It costs me 2.50$/month for the local phone number, plus 5$/month to forward the calls to my pager when unavailable then it's 0.011$/minute. If you use more than 10000 minutes per month it's 0.009$/minute, and for more than 100000 minutes it' 0.008$/minute. It's aimed at the reseller market, you can buy as many phone number as you need and use the same "time bank". So you have to pay the monthly charges every month, and you got to buy at least 50$ of calling time to start. I'm using it since 22 days and I still have 48.806$ left on my account. But I have to pay about 10$/month for the dry loop since I don't have conventional phone service. |
