How come with my new Sony HDTV when it scans the stations, I don't get that channel at all when it is part of digital starter package?
I'll assume you've done a channel rescan on your Sony.

I've see something like this with my Sony Bravia. I believe it has to do with the instream PSIP mapping the channel above the ~130 maximum. Sony seems to handle this illogically.

I've emailed Sony support for an explanation of their algorithm for this, but they insist I phone in. (I don't want to know badly enough to waste the time).

I suggest you go to www.silicondust.com, enter your ZIP code, and see if one of their Comcast channel maps fits your lineup. (With luck there'll only be one to choose from).

Look up 146 in the virtualized column to get the corresponding QAM channel number. Enter that number into your Sony directly. (Substitute '.' for '-').

No guarantees. But you may know more than when you started.

South Florida is Ready!

South Florida has started to go all-digital today October 26th in many parts of Broward! They have also previously sent out notices of the A28 I-Guide updates a few weeks back. Now that the transition is complete I'm sure they'll use that extra bandwidth to roll out more channels and features!

Since this thread is over 90 days old I figured I'd post here. A while back a few people in the Sacramento, CA area said they got mailings about 100 HD Channels being available by the years end. We'll were nearing the year's end and I haven't seen anything more about it. This of course goes hand and in hand with analog reclimation to have the space for more HD channels.
