I didnt miss that part but who is to say the cable company will ALLOW the sing to work with there box? Ie changing channel for example.

edit or maybe i have missed something?

Keller, TX		 Controlling the cable box is easily accomplished with an IR blaster.
All you're doing is hooking the STB output to the slingbox instead of the TV.
