Cogentco was there for the past year in the BGP network. Is there a problem with one of their route ? We have multiple links with other provider as well.

You can check the history of a CIDR advertised path from there. Is there a problem with the cogent link ?
Thanks. |

1 edit | Cogent links invariably always have problems. I chose you guys primarily for the peer link, which became something other link. I don't know what the link does, but my question remains, is cogent going to be the primary permanant routing? I hope not. To get to NYC using cogent, now I travel from mtl to albany to boston to nyc. |

| Hi Diskace, thanks for the response. I guess part of it is psychological, as marketing says "premium routing, pay a bit more per month for it", then you go and switch off the premium routing without warning, and have not adjusted the pricing to reflect it. Extra hops, response times fluctuate drastically from hop to hop. I don't think I'm being overly sensitive. |

BGP should normally take the fastest route. In your case cogentco is the fastest available path among available paths. I am putting more pressure on 3men to bring back some transit that were dropped during the datacenter switch. |
