| [Philly] Only 392 Murders in 2007
We thought it would be a record year but the murders slowed down a bit when the weather got cold. The good news is that it's still safer to be a citizen of Philly than to be a US soldier in Iraq.

Philadelphia's homicide rate - the number of people killed per 100,000 population - still tops the list of the nation's 10 largest cities.
As of last evening, the number of homicides in the city stood at 392. Of that total, 331 were shot to death, 321 of them by handguns.
According to police, 193 of the slayings were the result of an argument, 75 were tied to robberies, 52 were drug-related, and 30 were domestic violence incidents. From »www.voanews.com/english/2007-12-31-voa19.cfm
For the year as a whole, 899 U.S. service members were killed in Iraq. |

| Philadelphia, like other crime time states,(and us over here) NEED NEED NEEDSSSSS to install cameras on the streets. New Technology and it wouldn't kill the taxes. You see it on the news and they just talk and dont do a damn thing.
