| New Tier? 6Mbps down/ 1Mbps upload?
Linked here ---> »Post about PowerBoost and other speed increases here
Discussion of these noted cap increases should be discussed in the above thread. ~sorto'
I had an unexpected upgrade in Jersey City. It's an odd package that I haven't heard about before as I am getting 6 Mbps down, 1 Mbps up. Originally on the 6000/384 plan. See modem diagnostics that show the re-provisioned speeds: |

I moved this out of the other topic. Unless we find this is a variation of Blast, I'll let this stand as a separate topic for now. -- Join Team Helix * I am praying for these friends . |

If not, please explain. If so, then this belongs in the Blast! topic. -- Join Team Helix * I am praying for these friends . |

  Comcast Tier 2
@comcast.net
| reply to slimshady26 Yes, this area and many other area's in the NJ and PA markets are getting speed updates. The old SpeedTier is now Blast speeds and the lower tier gets boosted as well, should be moving to 8/1 on the old 6/384, 6/768 tiers. I would have to check again when I got to work on monday to be sure on the tiers. |

| That would make sense - my buddy in Wilmington is getting around 9000/1500 on a 6000/384 tier.
Now, not sure how much PB is playing into that - but I thought the upload was unusually high. -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!" |

I believe that they are offering the 16/1 16/2 Blast speed tiers in market areas where Fios is or will soon be available.
Heck, I've had 16/2 for two years now and Fios is nowhere in sight in my area... -- Happy New Year !! |

| I get notices on my front door nearly weekly now to let me know FIOS will be here soon and yet there is no hint of any increase in Comcast HSI speeds here. Since we're in an ex-ATTBI area, I'm having doubts we'll see 6/1, 16/1 or 16/2 even after FIOS is a reality.
I'm not complaining, just saying ... -- Join Team Helix * I am praying for these friends . |

FiOS is already available in limited spots in my town, and my development scheduled to go live this March, yet we've seen NO speed increases from Comcast. They say they'll increase our speeds once FiOS is here (which it already is) but my take on this is that if the technology for higher speeds is in place NOW they should give us the increase IMMEDIATELY. By purposely withholding it as a marketing chip they have caused me to lose any remaining inkling of loyalty I may have once had. When FiOS comes knocking this spring and I call Comcast to cancel, the promise of a free upgrade to higher speeds will be a case of too little too late. |
