| [Config] 851W with Mac via USB to Serial Adapter
I've tried 2 USB to Serial Adapters, one from Belkin, which advertises Mac compatible on the box, and another non name brand. I've tried ssh, telnet, https into the router and I still can't access it.
Any suggestions, I'm running Tiger 10.4 with a USB Serial Adapter.

| Being Mac compatible would simply refer to the USB to serial device itself being supported on a Mac, it has nothing to do with the device you are trying to connect to.
What settings did you use for the serial port?
And also, what terminal program are you using on the Mac? |

| reply to Maggs I took some advice from a post in another forum and now use a keyspan serial adapter with my MAC. To use it I open a terminal window and use the screen program to access the keyspan serial port. I have the details regarding using screen written down someplace. If you can't find them via Google I'll look for them and post. |

You mean you've opened up minicom or your favorite terminal software and set the serial port to 9600bps-8bit-N-1. »minicom.darwinports.com/ Open up a terminal and do a `dmesg` after plugging in the adapter. It should hook up to a tty.
Are you trying to do IP over console port? |
