| Tivo 3/HD Users Rejoyce!
I've actually been holding off getting the Tivo HD because of this. Cox is starting to implement SDV in my area in December so I'd be screwed.
I wonder if this also means that we will be able to get onDemand too? -- [[Your signature here]] |

| said by ajwees41 :I have read that it might or might not allow PPV or EOD on a 2way system. It's only for SDV (as announced, anyway). VOD and PPV require all sorts of user interface stuff, as well as billing issues. There is no user interaction or billing component to SDV beyond selecting channels that are already included in your monthly package. The cable companies have dug in their heels on this and are adamant that they completely control the user interface for VOD and PPV (and everything else on the DVR). TiVo has proposed a compromise where the cable company could have their own screens for VOD and PPV. |

| reply to nightdesigns Then again, why would tivo want to give access to PPV and EOD when they can launch their own service (didn't they want to partner with netflix?)
