| [DW7000] 89W 1070MHz ??
I was on a site today wich was having problems. The System (signal 75/ACP 78)was loosing signal on different times of the day. Changed cables and also swapped the modem. The System is assigned to IA8 (G28)/ 1070. After the registration of the new modem (same model as before, DW7000) it was still on the same transponder. The registration went through - downloaded all files and after the reboot all light where on but the power light was flashing and system status says: NOT COMMISSIONED. I went through this several times, using different transponders - same result. What is weired: 89W/1070 does not exist in the latest SBC file nor in the list published in the FAQ of this forum. Just for fun I entered the (not existing?)transponder manually, but with the same result.
Any ideas? Thanks, Raminto

| G28, 1070, shows in the latest transponder listing as transponder 6K, NLV.
You will not see all transponders listed in the sbc file because not all transponders have a ACP server connected to them. -- I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but what I'm not sure about is that what you heard isn't exactly what I meant. |

| reply to CMoore2004 CMoore: I could not phone in, the next phone is 40 miles away. Called in this morning and they confirmed, that the san and pin is for this serial#. They suggested to factory reset the modem and try again.
SatMan: Thanks for the update, I had the "old" list with me.
The system was originally assigned to 1330 and got switched to 1070. If this was the time the problem began - I can not tell. -- dw7000/.98m/2watt/Horizon1/1390/256k4/5 /xp sp2/desktop compaq 6330CA/linksys wireless/thinkpad xp pro |

| Anytime I've had that problem it was because the old modem had not been properly decommissioned, make sure they have deleted it for both Vision and in the CAC. -- I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but what I'm not sure about is that what you heard isn't exactly what I meant. |

| reply to Raminto Update: The next day the registration went through properly and everything was working fine for about two hours and then again, the signal disappeared (15).
As I have changed everything so far (cable, modem) it was time to replace the TRIA - e voila!
BTW: I could not see any signs of condensation and I do not know if it was a faulty transmitter or a faulty LNB. -- dw7000/.98m/2watt/Horizon1/1390/256k4/5 /xp sp2/desktop compaq 6330CA/linksys wireless/thinkpad xp pro |
