At $10/100GB block on the premium service... it's profitable. Rocky So doing the math what do you think the max possible is on a six meg line? figure 620 down and 80 up. You think I could pull off a terabyte? My math comes close.... -- common sense isn't so common.... |

Nevermind, I didn't put @teksavvy.com at the end of my username when attempting to view my stats. Stats show up fine now. |

My math comes close.... 1Mbps is enough to do ~250GB/month so 6Mbps should be enough to reach 1.5TB/month assuming you can find that much stuff to download and keep going at max speed 24/7. So 1TB is certainly feasible at 6Mbps but how many people actually find time to watch/use all that stuff month after month? |

| reply to R0CKY I'm on premium so I have a 100gb limit. If I want to use 200gb for December, do I call in and say 'please charge my credit card an extra $10 for December so I can have an extra 100gb of bandwidth, but don't charge it the extra any other time unless I tell you to'? Am I then all set to use up to 200gb in December without my card being charged extra for January, February....?
And by when do I have to call in? Is it ok to do it on November 30, or is that too late? |

Are you sure? I just checked the 'Price increase - notifications' thread discussing new bandwidths and it starts out with Rocky saying
Premium is now allowed 200g/mth EDIT: Capped Amount: 200GB (formerly 100GB)... further into these discussions to bridge gaps... see within for discussions.
but just about everything that follows in the discussion implies or says 100g/mth:
We've considered all the options and are giving a solutions that does scale very well.
Premium - 100GB cap Premium + usage - @ $0.25/GB
We adjusted to rates in such a way that will make it great for the heavy users going forward (keeping it alive) and at the same time allow anyone wanting to keep the $29.95 that are using 100GB (or less), which is a little over 70% of the unlimited user base.
The pre-payment statement is to buy your blocks ahead of time, so if you expect to use 200GB then buy an extra block of 100GB at $10. |
