Isn't it too late for that?

Help me understand Open Source. Can the GPL be withdrawn? Are they just talking about future protocol versions? Won't the existing GPL version always be around?

Future revisions of the protocol will not be made open source.

Er...is there really a need for further closed-source versions of BT? I mean, it's getting the job done. Plus, being open source, couldn't someone just rework/improve the protocol and release that?

...and I really don't understand how software can go from open to closed source. Isn't part of OSS agreements is that any further development of the software has to be OSS as well?
