cyberonic customer: anything to do with Level3 INACCESSIBLE!

I have been a cyberonic customer for years, with no problems other than the big covad transition. However, starting last week I am unable access a number of IPs; for example : live365.com - no ping, no tcp connectivity.

I did a traceroute on live365.com and find:

I *can* nodes 1-7 , but I *cannot* ping node #8:

Anyone know what's going on at level3 in San Jose??

I called cyberonic and they claim to not have anyone able to adress the problem until tomorrow (Monday Oct 29)

Basically ANYTHING going level3 is totally OFFLINE for me!!

(Other sites I cannot ping or http connect to) :

»level3.net
»cogentco.com

(Sites I CAN connect to with NO PROBLEMS whatsoever (no delays or other problems)

»yahoo.com
»google.com
»covad.com

I said above that anything to do with Level3 is inaccessible - this was overly broad. In fact, I can access »google.com through level3 :

DonBrady, thanks for your comment. I discovered another non-connectable site for me : www.cs.uoregon.edu. The interesting thing with that one is that although the traceroute goes through level3, it seems to get through level3's network with no problem:

Anything at earthlink.net also completely inaccessible.

Cyberonic said they'd have something to tell me end of business today (monday). If they can't give me a reasonable explanation then, I am cancelling.

I have no problem with holding Cyberonic responsible but you could also try posting on the Covad forum since may actually be a Covad network issue.

Your traffic does not go through any Cyberonic facilities.

Thanks Don, I will try contacting Covad through the forums here.

I think there was a backhaul issue on Covad's network in this region. I'm told it's been resolved. ekoontz- are you still having this problem?
