| I wonder where this myth that europeans don't get subsidized phones comes from....
I changed my phone 2 months ago, and I got it cheaper by resigning for 24 months on my contract. The phone is locked to a carrier, and you can unlock it once your contract extension is over.
Europeans can either buy phones full price, and unlocked, or get them at a fraction of the price by renewing their contracts with their providers. When you do so, the phone is locked to your carrier (and sometimes to a single SIM card)
Regarding siemens phones, they were great until BenQ bought them. I was a siemens fan, up to the SL55. All phones they build after BenQ bought them seemed crippled with bugs. I know the 2 I had were, and from what I read on forums, a large number of users were suffering from the same symptoms. -- "Money and sex, storage and bandwidth: only too much is ever enough" Arno Penzias - Former Head of Bell Labs, and Nobel prizewinner |
