Actually you don't have to have any information in the PSTN tab proxy / userid in order to make an outgoing call on the attached pstn (FXO) line. You just need to have it setup in the Line 1 dial plan to send the call to "@gw0".
Then take the FWD account and forward all FWD calls to my Line1 VoIP account ~ hopefully ~ I can forward an sip Uri to it. if so.. then all will work. You need to forward the FWD calls at the FWD account level. I believe you can do that on the "extra features" section of your FWD account. Your Line 1 VoIP provider needs to accept incoming voip calls. Some providers like Gizmo and CallCentric do, a bunch don't. You can test out the capability of your voip account to accept incoming sip uri call by trying to call it with a softphone (like SJPhone) setup to make sip uri calls.
Now IF I can't forward SIP Uri calls the the account that I only dial out from, then the only way to get around that problem would be to use a dynamic ip forwarding like no-ip.com and set the ATA to answer without registration. (Which seems a little too intimidating for me right now) Forwarding the sip uri call directly to your SPA is a possibility. It's not too complicated, but you do have to forward the sip signalling and possibly the rtp ports in your router. If your router supports dyndns then it is fairly easy to keep the adddress updated, otherwise you have to keep your computer running to update your symbolic address with a new ip address if it changes. |
