Wireless Connection Now Dropping

Just upgraded ActionTec 701WG to QW05.5 and now the laptop won't stay connected using wireless connectivity. This was discovered by simply trying to test the laptop for connectivity on the "intenal" network. A connection is made but it very quickly (w/i a minute) drops out. All address static and checked and re-checked as all wireless settings. Using WPA as before; have XP Prof Sp2 + security fixes. Any help greatly appreciated.
