| Re: [Help] 2005 Ford Ranger Question The base of that antenna is probably a cover which is snapped on. You can pry it off to get to the screws that hold the antenna to the fender of the truck. But, don't do that- it's not made to be removed temporarily. You shouldn't have any trouble going through a car wash. My daughter's Explorer and my wife's Camaro (with similar antennas) have never been hurt. | |

Fort Smith, AR | Just run it through the auto car was it will be fine. The sign is just for there protection if something does happen to it. If it is not strong enough to go through an auto wash then you might as well junk the vehicle it is bolted to. | |

| there are several different types of antennas. the ones that the car wash is talking about are the older, solid, metal ones. like on the older buicks, oldsmobiles, crown victorias, etc. they werent made flexible enough to go thru a wash. but all antennas now a days will do fine. i have a 89, 93, 94, and a 2002 ranger and take all of them thru. i have never had a problem with it. so hope that helps | |
