...EVDO cards (business subscriptions) partnered with Meraki mesh units to build a robust network in rural areas?
Granted, I just saw this post and quickly thought of this. But, with a bit of thought, this might be worth looking into. No need to try to run DSL pipes all the way out to the rural areas (it won't happen anyway) since EVDO service is portable and the Meraki infrastructure would further grow the network with its mesh capabilities.

Regards, Kory The only problem with that option is that EVDO would have to actually be deployed in the area, many times 1X or EDGE is the only cellular option, with speeds in the 110k-150k range with latency in the 300-400ms range, it just doesn't make any sense. |
