Actually it's the newer firmware from Motorola that leaves out the info, not Comcast. Remember the login for a SBV5220 is admin and the password is motorola

Compared it to mine and I have a firmware version 2 years newer and 16 revisions later. Theres slight differences. One of the things I've noticed on the Mediacom voice modem is the detail of the DHCP process in the logs. It says what boot file it downloads, the TFTP server address, etc.. I don't know of any official link, but they both own former chunks of TCI/AT&T Broadband/etc. Mediacom bought some areas (like in Iowa) before Comcast bought up the rest in 2001-2002.
