| WoW Expansion Take 2: Wrath of the Lich King
»www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath
In the cold, harsh northlands...
The Lich King Arthas has set in motion events that could lead to the extinction of all life on Azeroth. With the armies of the undead and the necromantic power of the plague threatening to sweep across the land, only the mightiest heroes can oppose the Lich King's will and end his reign of terror for all time.
Blizzard Entertainment's latest expansion to World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King adds a host of epic content to the existing game world. Players will achieve soaring levels of power, explore a vast new continent, and battle other high-level heroes to determine the fate of Azeroth. As you pit yourself against the dangers of the north, prepare to: Features
* Master the necromantic powers of the Death Knight - World of Warcraft's first Hero class. * Quest to level 80, gaining potent new abilities and talents along the way. * Learn the craft of spell augmentation with the new Inscription profession. * Brave the harsh new continent of Northrend, the icy domain of the Lich King. * Engage in epic siege warfare, deploying mighty siege engines to lay waste to destructible buildings in your path. * Transform your hero's look with new character-customization options, including new hairstyles and dances. * Explore perilous new dungeons filled with some of the deadliest creatures -- and greatest treasures -- on Azeroth. * And much, much more... |

Why test it when it's not even developed? |

There was just about as much Naxx clearers back then as there are BT/Hyjal clearers now...probably even more T6 clearers now. To have the game "locked in" for that difficulty for an additional year (and then some) would just make the game boring for a growing audience of players. |

@francenet.fr | reply to Mike 5% in BT ? your dreaming. 1% is probably correct
I think that most of the "non hard core" will max reach SSC and the Eye.
Extension must be released before june 2008 - else most casual will leave the game. |

And everyone else, keep on posting like you're an expert. Everyone said the same shit when the expansion didn't come out for Christmas (Oh, they're going to lose so much).
People will lap it up, Blizzard will make more cash than it already is and your comments, boasted as expertise, will have been long forgotten. |

LOL, Blizzard will seriously need to invest in some huge new content for everyone (aside from telling people to roll alts and/or PvP), or people will just stop playing with a year+ of the same old thing. Hell, even I'll get bored with WoW in half that time without something new to do. I'd likely just retire my account until Blizzard learns WTF-to-do and releases the actual expansion content. Many are already finding the expansion monotonous (easily the #1 complaint I hear from friends...Blizzard's saving grace is that there hasn't been a good game released to compete with their product), so that'll be a lot of lost revenue as customers suspend their accounts.

Provided that there isn't a good game released in the next year, yeah...Blizzard will begin raking it in again as people renew their accounts when the expansion comes out. Granted, they won't be doing so well as characters retire from boredom up until that point...but yeah, the expansion should be a real boon to Blizzard. |
