I'm guessing it's an "away status" notice for your buddies to see. I'd try it out, but am too chicken  , wondering about message persistence, and wondering how to remove/change it once entered. |

Maybe you use it if you want to send the same message to all of your buddies at the same time? Once you click on the dots a box opens up that allows you to type a message in it. |

Here's what I've been able to figure out/find out. Enter text into the box, this briefly displays on the "Buddy Line" for your buddies to see, and also appears on your user page under a heading of "What were you doing."
Both the info on the buddy line and the info on your user page is only visible to buddies.
To change what you're "doing" simply click on the interface again. To remove any info delete and leave blank.

I tried with some user accounts that I very rarely use (for testing only) and they can't see anything...

I like it but i'll be hard pressed to think of a message that will apply to all of my buddies, could it be tweaked (it would be nice) so that i can send it just to 2, 3, 4 etc ?
