No, I have no idea. You would have to give more information for any of us to even guess. What tier are you on? What (make/model) modem do you have? Have you called Comcast to ask or checked tier availability in your area at comcast.com?

How can I show confirmation I have the Blast! tier?

Show a screenshot of an actual download and then an upload of about 100 MB of a much larger file which demonstrates that you do have the new speeds, sustained and not just an initial burst like PowerBoost.

Show a screenshot of a letter or email you received which confirms the new speed tier is available to you in your area.

Post a screenshot of a scan of a Comcast invoice which shows you have the Blast! tier on your account. (Be sure to obscure personal identification information.)

If you have a Motorola Surfboard 5120 modem, this post will explain how to confirm you have the Blast! tier via your modem logs. Since a recent firmware update the Motorola 5100 is again showing the config filename in the modem logs. See this post. Some older Linksys modems will show the name of the config file in their diagnostic pages as well. Show us the screenshot, please. This post recaps current config file names and translates what they indicate in terms of speed caps.

Newer Linksys modems, such as Model BEFCMU10, Version 4 will show the caps on your connection. Go to the connection link via »192.168.100.1 and look at the provision rates for both downstream and upstream channels, as shown in this post. Upload a screenshot.

The various java and flash speed tests cannot confirm Blast! tier because they don't test download/upload past the bursts of PowerBoost.

Hey dadkins sorry for late reply as far as modem logs or config page i don't think logs show anything about my provisioned speeds, and well it it just power boost I belive although like i said the upload has been higher than usual this past week normally its hoovers around 2mb up and sometimes did hit 3mb but now I've been gettin 4 and 5 in test. I did run a download test from M$ and I am getting my normal speeds.

I agree. The first post here: »DOCSIS 3.0 Available in Haverhill, MA says that the service was initially used on a 5100 D2 modem and it does work, but maxes at 20/2 and no PB out of 22/5 with PB. He got himself a D3 6120 modem and speeds are right where they should be along with powerboost.

What is the make and model # of your modem ?

Not all modem firmware loads are enabled to display that data.

If they are able, the file name is typically located among the error entries in the modem's error log.

And, yes, I tried a couple of times on the Comcast beta speed test site. Portland is closest to me. The download looked normal, but upload was testing at five times my cap. Useless to me, really, this PowerBoost. I would rather have the speed tests be a little more useful than to have a huge, but very short boost like that.

Also, the log only showed a reboot of my modem around 2am yesterday and Wallwatcher confirms an IP change at that time.

Here is a test I just ran with Comcast.... Seems to be running at the right speed, still no powerboost. (should power boost to 30) Upload is sick tho, way faster than the advertised 5 so guess I can't complain. Anyone else in my area have power boost working with this tier? This is a bit of a rant, but their live chat is not always a good indicator either. When U-verse became available this summer, I thought I would check to see if that also meant Blast might be now available in my area. Needless to say, in the end two different live chat "customer reps" said it was available and two different "sales reps" took an order for an upgrade to the Blast tier. Can anyone tell me if the upstream provisioned rate for blast! is 2000 kbps or 2200 kbps? I seem to remember having 2000 kbps, then 2200 kbps. Now, for whatever reason, I am back to 2000 kbps!

I actually called to upgrade to Ultra for another 10 more bucks. The upload is sick fast, not sure if that is acurate. I ran the down a few times and doesn't look like it's power boosting to 30. Still, 22 is much better than what I was getting. On the comcast page it said modem lease needed for the ultra package. I thought I would have to get a docsis 3 modem, but she said no I wouldn't have 2. So that's solid. I'll re-check the speed next week. They had the nerve to charage be a $1.99 upgrade fee. She said I was actually saving money because if they had to come out they would charage 15. I told her that's pretty crappy, I call to spend more money with them and they wanna charage me. Ass backwards if you ask me. I have 3 dvr boxes with them as well. Show a screenshot of a letter or email you received which confirms the new speed tier is available to you in your area.

Post a screenshot of a scan of a Comcast invoice which shows you have the Blast! tier on your account. (Be sure to obscure personal identification information.)

If you have a Motorola Surfboard 5120 modem, this post will explain how to confirm you have the Blast! tier via your modem logs. Since a recent firmware update the Motorola 5100 is again showing the config filename in the modem logs. See this post. Some older Linksys modems will show the name of the config file in their diagnostic pages as well. Show us the screenshot, please. This post recaps current config file names and translates what they indicate in terms of speed caps.

Newer Linksys modems, such as Model BEFCMU10, Version 4 will show the caps on your connection. Go to the connection link via »192.168.100.1 and look at the provision rates for both downstream and upstream channels, as shown in this post. Upload a screenshot.

The various java and flash speed tests cannot confirm Blast! tier because they don't test download/upload past the bursts of PowerBoost.

Blast should be automatically available when it is rolled out in your area. The standard letter they send says" between midnight and 5 am" (or similar) However, sometimes they don't force the reboot for a couple weeks after it is available, so a powercycle will be needed if you want it ASAP.

Same here dadkins. For whatever reason the OOL tests have been steadily giving me crummy results for a little over a year now.

I, and posters that I have recommended this test to were getting good results from that server prior to that.

Best to try a few dl.tv files all at the same time, and I personally use FlashGet to make several connections per file.

FlashGet with 5 connections to OOL ftp... not great.

For some reason recently I've been receiving bad download speeds from that site. When this occurred I went and tried out »ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/ and downloaded test 64. Some may show insanely fast speeds, and the same test at a different time may show slow speeds.

Plus, downloads can "hiccup"(lack of a better term) and trick PowerBoost into running, to some degree, and skewing the *test*.
Your test looks cool, but Blast is not 25mbps - that's PowerBoost skewing the *test*

Either show the config page of your modem(if it shows provisioned speeds), or the logs showing the speedtier_extreme2 file...

Or -

Get a meter like DUMeter(pay) or Netmeter(free)...

*I* like using a download manager and getting 4-5 downloading at the same time.
This allows for any "hiccups" to not be as problematic and will show the actual speed the line is capable of running at.

I'm really not trusting speed tests and both our results seem to indicate PowerBoost is still at play. The cap is 17600, not 25628 or 18653Kbps.
