| AVG Free anti-spy/mal Vista solution... stinks
I've used the AVG/Ewido anti-spyware app )as an on-demand scanner ONLY) for, well.. years. After installing the latest update... I find I'm not able to disable the resident guard.
For an on-demand scanner.. this is just plain silly.
Their reasoning? It's their 'solution' for running as a limited user under Vista.

Great... but I'm on XP Pro.
I don't see this as a solution at all, just a workaround.
And now I've dropped another anti-spy/malware scanner (first being adware). This leaves spywareblaster and spybot. Sure, there great apps, but, one more doesn't hurt.
We'll probably see this more and more... Lame workarounds because of an inability to get it right for a lame OS (just my opinion folks.. please.. no VISTA is teh best replies). -- Vista... just say no! Your solution?... >su Password: *****
