Find Out Who Else is Hosted on Your Site's IP Address

quote:
This amazing site rivals that of the pay service provided by whois.sc, which tells you what other sites are hosted on the IP address of any other site's address you enter.

At that whois.webhosting.info, it reported

quote:
209.123.109.175 - IP hosts 8 Total Domains ...

Well, that nice but www.myipneighbors.com reported..
quote:
15 other sites hosted on the IP address 209.123.109.175 ...

Ok, so what else does whois.webhosting.info do?

Very cool ... but it does not appear to be completely accurate. I entered one domain that I have and I know for a fact that I have 2 other domains on the same server and it did not list them.

Edit added:
myipneighbors.com showed 135 domains on my server but did not list a few of mine that I know are on that server.

webhosting.info listed 208 on the same search but also did not show all the domains that I have hosted on that server.

Could it be that I am searching by domain name and not by IP address?

Anyone know how to do the same reverse query but for MX records? I'd be interested in seeing how many domains my email provider is providing service for. I suspect it might be possible with nslookup or dig but perhaps someone's already wrapped the functionality into a public web page?

I cheked one IP address.
myipneighbors reported 61, webhosting.info reported 208.
The latter has all the domains I know that's in the same IP address, while the former didn't list even one.

I decided to try my sites IP out (1&1 shared hosting) and it apparently has 233 domains listed at that IP. Talk about overselling...

I'm planning on changing web hosts anyways

That site includes subdomains, so it is a little off...

223 domains on a single IP and you're worried about overselling? You haven't seen anything yet; a decent server can easily host 223 domains...

I'm mainly concerned about how slow PHP parsing and MySQL queries are (even though that's on a different server).
