[Kerio 2.x] IPv6

I'm still with Win2K and wonder at what point Kerio 2 will no longer be advisable to continue to use.

I've talked with my ISP about IPv6 but learned nothing useful.

Will all network traffic be compatible for both IPv4 and IPv6 forever? (dreaming)

I've read numerous articles, but no one seems to give definitive information.

thanks,

-rich

For the moment, 2.x does a fair job of things. IPv6 can be filtered, albeit in a gross, non-granular way, using the "protocol: other" approach, and dropping in the protocol type number. For the moment, Kerio 2.x's not obsolete, for want of IPv6 functionality... but it's a ticking clock, assuming any sort of massive move towards the new standard.

At that time I suppose I could put a router in front and let Kerio monitor outbound...?

i am not worried about ipv6.. the last that i was reading about ipv6, it sounded like it was "dead in the water", with major security-holes that will first have to be resolved before it is used..

if, in the future, we ever have to worry aboout ipv6, we can worry about it then.. it won't be hard to find another firewall if that is what we have to do..
