| price jump in 12 months
For "value", did you check what the ongoing cost will be after the 12 month triple play special price expires.
I was told the $99 plan becomes about $140/month after the year. |

| Mine runs about $160 right now. I have 3 Dual Tuner DVR, and High Teir Internet. It would go upto around $200 I'm sure after the 1 year. I will downgrade it most so I'm back around 150 . Not to mention when I mvoe in Dec I will prob drop all the DVR boxes but 1. -- Programming is like sex. One mistake - endless support. |

| Wow, I couldn't handle such a cable bill.
My comcast tv and comcast internet run total of $61/month. With all fees, my telephone thru viatalk runs $12.05/month for unlimited local/long distance (2 yr deal). Or a total of $73/month. Actually, since I referred a friend to VT and they signed up, I get 10% less than that. Anyway, comcast triple play just doesn't cut it for me before or after the promo period.
Oh...on the priority for upload/download, I have a router with QoS and tweaked my settings while running DSLR speedtests, mainly listening on the "other" side of the voip call so I can hear what happens during the upload test. The most I get now is just a click or pop during such an extreme test. So, it is possible to get good non-comcast voip service.
And on battery backup, I have a huge battery backup that all my network equipment is powered by. I can go at least 12 hours with phone and internet connectivity during an outage. My battery backup uses a deep-cycle marine battery. |
