| Of course, not for existing customers.
Standard introductory sales ploy - not for existing customers.
Probably works best if you're in a market served by 2 or more equivalent providers.
The switch back and forth, just after the "introductory" pricing ends? And sign up for a competitor's introductory deal?
If so, get a personal / vanity web domain and use that for your email address, so you don't have to have a vendor linked new email address every year. www.1and1.com, for one, provides domain name leasing with 1 email account for $6 / year. -- Government is like fire - a dangerous servant and a fearful master - George Washington
Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all other forms of government. - Winston Churchill |

| reply to nekote Just get a domain - $10/yr from GoDaddy and then www.hagenhosting.com - $3.95/mo: * 110 GB disk space * 1,100 GB monthly bandwidth * 500 POP3 e-mails * Pre-installed scripts * Basic Spam Control tool
You get a real web presence and site.
100% Linux (unlike 1x1 who uses a lot of Windows), rock solid for me for the past 5 years, and a great value.
Now I'm never at the mercy of an ISP. Best thinf I've done. |

| reply to nekote Umm, existing customers can take advantage of the triple play $99/mo pricing. Just call in, hit the buttons to cancel your service, and then tell the CSR that you're calling to see how long you need to tell them before you cancel your service because you're switching to Verizon. If they're REALLY dense, ask them if there are any retention promotions going on.
Rinse and repeat 1 mo after the "promotional" pricing runs out. Been doing this for years.. |

But, I haven't used an ISP email for years. I don't want to be tied down like that in the event that CC finally tells me to take a hike. |

| I need a custom email so it's professional looking. I've been using for personal purposes yahoo for many years and gmail since that's been around. But, I hate giving gmail addresses out for business. I do it, but I don't like it.
Yeah, other than POP downloading of email, I haven't used my ISP mail in years. |
