I was curious what made their little town "financially secure". Didn't spot that info nugget, yet.
But, kinda' weird town. 86.9 sq. mi. - 654 houses (217 occupied: 196 owner occupied, 21 renter occupied)
Only 1/3 of the homes are occupied????
97 mobile homes.
Median price asked for vacant for-sale houses in 2000: $28,300
AVERAGE (!) price $28,300 for a home (in 2000)!!!
509 residents = $10 / year per resident "franchise fee" ?
What is up with this town??? -- Government is like fire - a dangerous servant and a fearful master - George Washington
Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all other forms of government. - Winston Churchill |
