No soup for you!

Otherwise, thank you for the poll, pcdebb See Profile.

I voted as follows:
•Adaware
•IE-Spyad
•Spybot Search & Destroy (Mainly for Tea-Timer, Immunization, and Hosts File.)
•SpyCop
•SpywareBlaster
•SpywareGuard (This one may be redundant or competitive with Tea-Timer, but the SG icon has sat in the system try for so long, I'd feel naked if I got rid of it.)
•Windows Defender (weekly scheduled scans)
•AV or Firewall includes Antispyware - Zone Alarm Pro (weekly scheduled scans)
•Other - Manual additions to the Hosts File on a site by site basis.

As well as ticking the listed programs I use, I also ticked the ‘Other’ box as I also use BOClean which is not listed.

Wouldn't BOClean be classified as an anti-trojan?

BOClean is an all-purpose anti-malware program which, inter alia, targets spyware. Note this para from its last update announcement:

QUOTE
EIGHTY-THREE new nasties for a total of 21907 UNIQUE infectors (262,807 variants of these including trojans, worms, bots, hijackers, downloaders, spam proxies, rootkits, adware, spyware, keyloggers, "dialers" and other malware in total) covered in today's update for BOClean 4.22.

For kicks(I get bored often), I run several AS scanners weekly.
All that is ever found is "bad" cookies.

Cookies don't bother me - YMMV.

I use:

Adaware (Lavasoft) - Non-payed version

Peer Guardian (this one is for the Other box I checked, although it's a Firewall, it does block many types of Adware/Spyware programs very nicely.

Spyware Blaster - Non-payed version

Spybot Search & Destroy - Non payed version.

Firefox web browser, Spywareblaster, Spybot S&D, and the built-in Windows XP anti-spyware tool, "Disable Automatic Updates".

*Edit- And WinPatrol. A terrific app.
Everybody should have some sort of startup program watcher, imo.

SpySweeper here for real time protection and SpyBot S&D as well as Adaware for those times I need to work on others machines.
I also find myself installing others drives in an external case and then running a scan with my AV as well as SpySweeper against that drive.
Amazing what it turns up!

I also ticked the box "Other" because I use BOClean, which detects all kinds of nasties (including spyware), but it is primarily an AT, so it's got nothing to do with this AS poll.

Why? You don't need a separate antispyware scanner if you have BoClean.

I checked Spybot and Spyware Blaster and Avira. There was no way to differentiate between the free Avira and Paid. The Paid version checks for a lot more spyware than does the free.
