No, shit. I hadn't realized that from the 20,992 other posts where you ejaculate this message.

Here's your f-ing trophy already, for accomplishing what any 11 year old can do:

Back on topic, There are successful business models with DRM out there, so Cohen needs to cry something different.

LMAO!
Sorry if I am doing something that makes sense... your ONE smart ass post is nothing compared to the many PMs I get thanking me for informing people of another way to get DRM free music.

Do ya want me to tell ya what to do with that trophy?
Ya can do the same with your DRM models as well!
Fuck iTunes!

Here's a thought friend... go buy the CDs at a used CD store and rip them yourself!
Go to your local Library and check the CDs out(Libraries do have CDs) and rip away!
BORROW the CDs from a friend...
All of the above is DRM free, but you seem to like DRM.
No thanks pal!
You couldn't PAY me to put iTunes on my computers!

Scroll up pal!
Do you want that shit on YOUR machine(s)? GO FOR IT!!!

"Here's your f-ing trophy already, for accomplishing what any 11 year old can do..."

...and yet you still use iTunes? What are you trying to say friend?
I'l be glad to show you how to do it too!
It's not hard!

I don't use iTunes...I don't care what people do...I'm here to discuss the topic..a doomed business whose failure can't be blamed on DRM since other businesses based on DRM exist and do pretty well.

Are you incapable of discussing the topic or do you just like to post that you're the ultimate ripping machine?

Well actually other business models are successful not because of DRM, but rather because of a completely different business model. Apple is doing well because they have a good product (iPod) and riding the "hype" wave amongst kids. Still, more and more people are starting to discover limitations of DRM and iTunes, so it's hard to say for how much longer Apple will stay up top unless they find a way to remove some of DRM’s restrictions.

Failure of Bittorrent store might not be entirely just DRM's fault, but it's playing the biggest role in it’s demise. Bittorrent store doesn't have a hardware item directly tied into their software nor do they have "hype" (well maybe a little) like Apple, so unless they can make DRM transparent or offer superior to their competition product, then they won't go far...

Seeing as THIS article states that the DRM part is failing for THIS venture... you figure it out!

If you cruise through the Software forum here, you will see that iTunes has it's issues as well(you did bring iTunes up, not me!).

I really don't care what you use, if anything!
I use non-DRMed files and they work!
Always!
Everywhere!
At any time!

I have yet to have one refuse to play, audio *OR* video.
Did you even read the article?
"Early impressions of the official BitTorrent store are in, and this system also suffers from a rash of problems. Unsurprisingly, a lot of the issues are DRM-related"

DUH!

MANY of us predicted this! Where were you?
Even Bram knew it was going to choke and die! LOL!

No! I am not the Ultimate Ripping Machine, but I know where to get files that ALWAYS work!
HINT: They don't have any buggy DRM!

How about you friend?

Well I kind of agree.. DRM comes in many flavors, from the nearly innocuous to the obnoxiously stupid.

If you dig on Apple products then you'll likely never run into limitations or even notice Apple's flavor of DRM.

If you dig on subscriptions or just purchases you can do well with Urge et all.

The problems experienced with the Bittorrent store may very well stem from their DRM implementation, but those were business decisions reflective only of how they decided to flavor their DRM. They also reek of some kind of weird experiment to see how much torture people will try. Doesn't sound like they even tested this crap.

However, the ultimate problem is that Bittorrent's (the technology) only possible selling point is that it's supposed to get you larger files faster, with the caveat that you're sharing you are contributing to the upload pool.

Even with less-intrusive DRM, they'd still need a real booming mass of seeders to make a dent in direct download speeds that competitors offer without the customer's uploading.
