Every few seconds they could send out an out of band pulse to see if the copper meets a sensor at regular intervals.. if it doesn't, they know to hit the "911" button and send out the police, and where.. sort of like the ADT, Sloman's shield for POTS Copper bound hillbilly rinky dink (aka legacy)phone system security..
Where are those "wireless" can you hear me now guys? Don't they ever look up at a phone pole? Or is Verizon only concerned with the wireless network? Service interruptions cost money.. I'd want some money off my bill if someone swiped the copper and was left without service for hours or days...! |

There are millions of miles of cable out there, you cant watch it all at once. |

Well, in typical NYC style you "want want want." This isn't Verizon's fault, you shouldn't get a discount from outage due to theft of plant.
Anyway, you should be used to theft living in NY. |

Did not know it was getting this bad... i am from West Virgina i now live in Arizona just retired... i spent the last summer in West virginia fixing up my old home place for a summer cottage ...very remote in the center of the state...someone had cut the power poles down to take the steel wires some were axed some were sawed.. since i had not lived there for years a tree had fallen on power lines and shorted out system so they just disconected power a mile or so down the road since no one lived there anymore...did not take the thieves long to move in...really sad that things have changed this much...i blame it on the foodstamp/drug culture that is taking over this country...when you dont invest in what you own you place no value on it or anyone elses ... SAD really SAD!!! |
