| Where is the Page Button?
I have the HD DVR box and after clicking the (Guide) button, I want to page up and down the listings. Yet it seems like the only buttons that work are the ones the force you to scroll channel by channel in the guide instead of Paging through the guide.
There is even a button marked (Page) on the remote, but it doesn't do jack squat. Any clues? |

| Sounds like you have the 'new remote' (with the big FiosTV button in the middle): »www22.verizon.com/nroneretail/nr···t_nc.pdf
Yes, this is a problem with the 'new remote' and the 'old software' ... lack of page +/- (and day +/-).
The problem should be fixed by 'mid-year' when Verizon releases their 'new software'.
Till then ... you could: - complain to Verizon and try to get them to send you an 'old remote' (note: these don't support 30 sec skip) - buy any of the (several) universal remotes available that support the Motorola STBs and have dedicated page +/- (and day +/-) buttons / functions - grin and bear it and wait for 'mid-year' |

My neighbor across the street mentions it every time I speak with her. |

| I think it's more of a 'Ooops, we wanted the new software and new remote to be released more simultaniously but ... stuff happens' move. Software gets a little delayed ... you run out of old remotes a little early ... bigger overlap than intended ...
Ooops. |

| So will the new UI break the old remote or will the new UI accept the old and new codes? And they can't tweak the current UI to accept the new code in addition to the old?

That blows... Lack luster software coding and I gotta scan through the channels one at a time.. Evil... Just another nail in the coffin making me want that Tivo Series 3 more and more. |

I bet the folks making decisions in the FiOS TV unit have only seen presentations of the product or maybe played with it in a controlled environment once or twice (if that). |

I have the old remote and that's how I do it. It's quicker and also easier than trying to reach the page +/- buttons. It's the day +/- buttons I would not want to be without. I sure hope they continue to work with the new software. |

| Just got FiOS yesterday. Thought that was a bit odd. Thanks for the info.
Question: What about the ability to independently turn the STB off from the TV? With my ComCast remote, I could hit "STB" and it would power down without the TV doing anything. Now, they're both cycling together. Not good if I want to enter the diagnostics menu, which is Power Off then Select and watch the display at the same time (TV must still be on). |

| You can tell the remote not to power off the TV and the STB at the same time.
I'm guessing you have the newer Philips remote. Go to »www22.verizon.com/content/fiostv···port.htm and click Go next to the Philips remote and look on Page 10 for controlling the power.
I prefer the Power button turning on the TV & STB (and my receiver too). -- Tweaked your connection? | Mail Parse | Speed Converter |

I dug out the instruction sheet I had for the remote to compare to the file. It's the same 10 page on-line manual crammed into a single sheet of paper. No wonder I missed it. |

| reply to GeekGirl1 Another option for turning on/off older TVs with the STB is to just plug the TV into the power outlet on the back of the STB. You may also need to select the option on the STB options menu to make it work if it isn't the default. This probably only works with TVs that have a manual power button/switch. |
