comcast upload limits?

I was wondering what do people here know about transfer limits for comcast? ie how much can you upload until they send you an abuse notification? Now I know theres not gona be a clear anser but I'm just wondering if theres anyone here that might have gotten one of those notifications from comcast and know how much they uploaded.

The whole reason I'm asking is because so far this month I uploaded about 25gb via torrents and I'm gona be leaving for the week in the morning. So I'm wondering if i should stop them during that time because I will have no way to control my computer until i get back.

I'd be interested in knowing this too. Some people have suggested that uploads might count more than downloads. So if the invisable cap is "100" for DL, it might be 12.5 or 16.6 for uploads (8:1 or 6:1) but I haven't heard of actual abuse recipients substantiating that...

Unless the site has a ranking to try and avoid leechers, I'd turn them off, just for the sake of turning them off. I doubt you'll get a notification at all, most people who get letters are downloading between 200 and 700GB per month, so most torrents share about 35 - 100%, that's 70GB - 200GB in upload. The main focus is on downstream, but if you're using 245GB in upload, yeah... someone is going to notice after awhile.

I don't think you'll have a problem. I looked at my usage at a popular music sharing site and averaged it out, over the past 110 weeks I've used an average of 10.43 gigabytes of upstream bandwidth a week without an issue. Just limit the speed a little if you're afraid of using too much.

Since this really is about bandwidth limits and we already have a topic on that, let's keep the discussion there, please?
