<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/0"><b>anon</b></A> : I handled this problem 3 years ago by building a "media center pc" for the purpose of connecting directly to my TV and digital reciever. granted, my system has around $1500 invested in it thru 3 years of minor upgrades. <br>it now contains:<br>AMD Athlon XP 2100+<br>Abit AN7 nForce 2 Ultra 400 mboard w/ nVidia Soundstorm<br>ATI All in Wonder 9700 Pro<br>1 gb ddr ram <br>Antec Overture case (when i bought this, there were very few HTPC cases available)<br>NEC DVDRW 4x Dualformat<br>2x 160gb IDE harddrives<br>2x 250gb SATA harddrives<br>Logitech MX Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard<br>Logitech Wireless Rumblepad2<br>Samsung 32" EDTV CRT<br>Onkyo Surround system. <br><br>This package is networked with cat6 to my other computer. and both systems are set up to share about 1.5 terabytes worth of Audio, Video and Game Content. I have over250 movies personally archived into Xvid on the hard drives of my two systems.<br><br>This setup handles everything i need it to do. And I first built my "media center" over 6 monthes before Microsoft brought Media Center Edition to market]]></description>
